General information:

  • Tepic is the capital city of the state of Nayarit, with a population of 400,000 and at an elevation of 3,000 feet.
  • Rainy season is from June – September, the rest of the year it does not rain.
  • Days are hot and winter nights cool.
  • Nayarit is mountainous with agriculture being it’s main source of income.
  • We are about 1 hour driving time from the ocean.
  • Nearby major airports are in Puerta Vallarta and Guadalajara, both are about 2.5 - 3 hours by car/bus from Tepic. Bus fares from either city is about $15 each way per person.

Ministry

You can prepare dramas, music, clowns and working with our children and staff present the Gospel to the lost here in Tepic.
Bringing a group to Casa de Ninos Frank Gonzales A.C. will change lives; maybe yours!

A typical day in the life of a group here at Casa de Ninos Frank Gonzales is:

  • 6:00-Rise and Shine!
  • 7:00-Breakfast
  • 8:00-2:00-School(if children have classes) (At the same time group does a project)
  • 2:30-Lunch
  • 3:00-6:00-Free time(Group time w/kids, some kids have to finish homework)
  • 6:00-Supper
  • 8:00-Bedtime(This can be a good time for groups to get together to pray & fellowship)
Weekends are more relaxed; there is more time to do things.

Projects

  • Paint the exterior and interior of our buildings
  • Landscaping (gardens, sidewalks, retaining walls, etc.)
  • Electrical, plumbing, carpentry (variety of jobs)
  • Decorating rooms or areas
  • Build a storage building
  • A new playground
  • New roof for our wood building
These are some ideas for you; things that we would like to do here, or projects that need to be done. We want to use you in the areas that you feel you can help and in areas where persons have skills. Can you help us by your giving of time and or your giving of money? Also it is a blessing to us for some of the group members to: help in the kitchen, wash clothes, sewing, car repair, nursery, etc; some of the everyday things in life.

Important Note: Visitors or groups coming to the Casa need to give us at least a 30 day notice before they come. We need to inform Immigration of all persons that will be staying at the Casa for more than a day.
