From the Heart of our Director
Irma Ruelas Krube, has been a faithful staff member and director at Casa de Ninos for many years. She shares her burdens and desires. "It is an honor for me to share with you just a few of the many things God is doing at the Casa de Ninos Frank Gonzales. I have been serving my Lord in this place for 14 years, and each day I realize that I need Him more. God has shown me that I can’t depend on the experiences or the successes of yesterday, neither should I live, crying over past mistakes. I have to live, "one day at a time", depending on the presence of God and His love. This Children’s Home is a place of refuge, a light on the mountain, that God is raising up to minister to children whose hearts are wounded, whose lives are broken. Here they are restored by the Love of God as He works through every staff member and volunteer. His desire is that Casa de Ninos Frank Gonzales reflect His great love. He is working with us, showing us how to be His hands…to touch the children; how to be His eyes…to see the children as He sees them; to be His voice…to talk to the children; to be His ears…to listen to the children; to be His heart…to love the children. We are not here because we’re perfect. We are not here for the great excitement. We are not here to receive recognition. We are here because God has chosen us to care for His children. Thank you for praying for us! Thank you for helping us with your gifts!" Meet Irvin! (He’s in the middle)
Christmas was a special time for all the children. The many gifts from you, our supporters, allowed them to have new shoes, a gift exchange, a birthday party for Jesus, and a pig roast on Christmas Day! But for Irvin, it was a sad time. His mother died just a few weeks before the Holidays. When she was pregnant with Irvin she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She refused treatment so she wouldn’t harm her unborn child. Afterwards it was too late for the treatment to be effective, and she was left immobile and bedridden. Irvin’s father left her with the baby for another woman. Irvin was given to his father’s uncle but they didn’t want to raise him, so he was brought to us. Irvin is sad and grieves for his mother, yet he understands that she is with Jesus, and this gives him peace. Casa de Ninos Frank Gonzales is home to him now. Please keep Irvin in your prayers!! Quincinera (What’s that?)![]() It is customary in Mexico & in most Latin Countries to have a very special party for girls when they turn 15 years old. For us as Christians, it is a public announcement of how grateful we are for this daughter and how particularly special we think she is. It is a time of once again placing her in God’s hands and trusting Him with her life and future. All girls, from the time they are little, look forward to this day. They dream of it and plan for it. EVERYONE comes and brings a little gift, and takes pictures, and visits with one another. There is food and a specially decorated cake. This is a time to share memories of their growing up years and a time to tell the girls how very special they are and how pretty they are. This day we come together to jointly bless them and to pray for them and their future. Memories and photos are stashed away to share with future husbands and children. This year we have TWO girls who are turning 15, Lupita and Belinda. Both of them have been with us for years. Lupita entered Secundaria (Junior High) this year. At mid-year she was awarded a plaque for having the highest grades in her home room. Belinda is still here in our school at the "Casa", reading every book she can get her hands on! Orphanages in Mexico are not known for having luxuries, but our Lord is known for providing good gifts. We think our girls are lovely and special and deserving. With all our hearts we want to provide this special day in their lives for them! (***We will put their pictures in the next newsletter in all their "finery"!) TRANSPORTATION FUND STARTED!!![]() God touched the heart of two men and caused them to send some money to begin a vehicle fund! We now have $300.00 in that fund! It’s a start, isn’t it? Would you like to help us provide adequate transportation for the Orphanage? Computer Fund![]() One husband and wife felt led to give $241.00 to help us provide the school with a new computer. We need at least $800.00, so We’re only $559.00 away from a computer! Can you help us make this become a reality? WE DEPEND UPON GOD AND HIS PEOPLE TO KEEP THE CASA DE NINOS, FRANK GONZALES, OPERATING. WE DO NOT RECEIVE FUNDING FROM ANY GOVT. ORGANIZATION OR CORPORATION. THIS IS TRULY A "FAITH" MINISTRY!If you would like to help us, Just write your check to: Oconee Heights Baptist Church, and earmark it for: Casa de Ninos, Frank Gonzales, and specify which fund you would like your gift to be placed in; GENERAL FUND, Transportation Fund, or Computer Fund.THANK YOU SO MUCH!Old Newsletters: |
