Casa de Niños
A ministry of God's love in Tepic Mexico
April 2002
“As the Father has loved me so I love you, continue in my love.” Jn. 15:9
Such a simple message, such a hard thing to do but if we cannot do it we live in darkness. Many of our children have lived in darkness most of their lives because they have not been able to love. To love I think we need to first feel love, or experience love. We feel God’s desire is to bring children to a place where he can envelope them in his love, and that is the ministry of Casa de Niños. God wants to heal damaged lives or hearts with his love. To be loved and then love is what Jesus wants to admonish us to do. Jesus loves you and wants you to love others. Can you do it?
Really big change!
God has brought change to Casa de Ninos. Jeanne and Richard Sixtos felt God directing them to other work and have resigned as President and Vice President of the board of Casa de Niños Frank Gonzales A.C. That has caused us to make some other changes. We have a new President Marcos Guzman a local Mexican man here in Tepic who has really done much for the orphanage in his time on the board, and we had to relocate where you send your donations. We are ever so grateful to Oconee Heights Baptist for receiving donations for the Casa and now Mercedes Christian has opened their doors and hearts to do the service of receiving donations for the children here in Tepic. We are very excited to allow God to do his work here in Tepic. Even the newsletter is getting moved from the office of Jeanne to here in Tepic. Many changes at the Casa but God’s work here remains the same and always will. We are ready to go to work for the glory or our wonderful God. Keep an eye on our web page to keep up to date with the children and what is going on here. God is great and wonderful and awesome.
Learning never stops
The directors of the Casa and the school (Irma and Magdalena) are making a trip this
month to Monterrey to go to a convention for Christian schools.
Pray for them.
Our sweet Mariana
Since coming to us about 6 months ago weighing about 25lbs. Mariana has been in and out of the hospital spending more than 2 months of that time in the hospital. She has suffered so from malnutrition that her body did not develop properly, she cannot walk and her 7-year-old body has little or no defense against sickness. Mariana picks up any sickness that comes by. Mariana needs to gain strength, to stay healthy long enough to gain weight. Our goal is to have a house very near the children’s home where Mariana could live with someone to care for her but is still close enough to be a part of us. Believe with us for Mariana to be able to walk some day.

Pray for Mom & Dad
Our desire for some time has been to have a married couple live with the children to love and care for them as mom and dad. We now have a couple living with the girls and one with the boys. The enemy does not like it. Pray that God will give them strength to love unconditionally as God loves us and for God’s wisdom to fill them to deal with hurting and needy children. It is a real challenge trying to love these children and not leaving your own children and spouse feeling less loved. Having house parents is such a good thing for the children and Satan tries so hard to destroy or break up this loving environment. Please pray for our house parents. They need this so much. Pray God’s protection over their marriages. Pray that unity will be strong within our staff. Our present house parents are Arturo & Esther for the boys and Jose Luis & Lucy with the girls.
