Rough road ahead!
Irma and I have some land up in the mountains not far from Casa de Niños. We have taken the children there many times to camp or spend the day. In my pickup it is an easy and enjoyable 15 minute uphill ride for us. This past year fires burnt all the brush and vegetation on the mountain side leaving us down below vulnerable to the coming rains. A couple weeks into the rainy season we had a big storm that brought a large amount of water and topsoil down to the populated areas below the mountain. The road to our land was totally washed out and a considerable amount of damage was caused to the areas immediately below the mountain. One of our workers who lives in this area was affected by the force of the heavy rains and had some damage to her home.
Life does sometime have storms that come and they bring to us hardship. Like though in the picture here where Irma is walking on what used to be a road, after we arrived to our land we found that everything was ok there. We thanked God that all was well there and rested some before walking back down. Endure through those "rough roads" in life knowing that God is with you and that just ahead you will encounter again that peace that passes all understanding.
Irma and I along with our son Joshua will be hiking up to our land this coming Wednesday to work some
and just enjoy the day with a few older boys that used be at Casa de Niños.
Blessings on you all and have a wonderful day!
